The Carol H. Taylor Breast Health Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and a Pink Ribbon Facility, recognized for providing excellence in breast health along with exceptional commitment and support to the women in our community. It is now one of only a handful of Centers of Excellence in women’s imaging in all of Westchester County. By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
To make an appointment, please call 914-787-5008.
The Center has also been granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a program administered by the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
Located near the Hospital’s main entrance, the recently opened Carol H. Taylor Breast Health Center offers patients a beautiful, spa-like environment – complete with carefully selected works of art and soothing colors. For further privacy, patients can relax in their own waiting area while they prepare for a procedure. The Center has its own private dressing rooms with lockers and plush robes to help make your visit more comfortable.
The Medical Director of the Carol H. Taylor Breast Health Center is Lynn Chinitz, MD. Dr. Chinitz has devoted her entire career to the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. She is also a board-certified radiologist affiliated with Columbia University Medical Center, whose primary focus is to read all aspects of breast imaging at the Breast Health Center and meet with patients to share her findings. Dr. Chinitz is a graduate of Barnard College of Columbia University, and SUNY Downstate Medical School. She completed her Radiology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center and her specialty fellowship at St Luke’s –Roosevelt.
