Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

When you are in need of orthopedic care, look no further than NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital's Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Department. We have a highly skilled staff of specialists and surgeons dedicated to providing quality care in an ideal community setting. Our physicians have years of experience and training from the finest medical institutions in the United States. Collectively, the orthopedic staff has performed more than 12,000 surgical procedures at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence.

Orthopedic specialists at Lawrence treat problems related to the muscles, bones or joints. Most orthopedic conditions result from disease or injury to bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. The severity of these conditions can vary and range from joint pain, sports injuries, osteoporosis, and foot and ankle problems. Depending on the condition, our orthopedic specialists will assess and treat the problem and determine if surgery is needed.

Our doctors perform reconstructive, hand, back and pediatric surgeries, along with a variety of ambulatory and in-patient procedures. In the event of an emergency, our experienced staff of board-certified Emergency Department physicians can assess and treat any injury and refer patients who need additional care.

While in the hospital our patients receive important rehabilitation services. Additionally, NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital provides outpatient rehabilitative care at two offsite facilities located in Eastchester and Scarsdale. Administered in a relaxing and supportive environment, our rehabilitation services are provided by highly trained physical therapists licensed in New York State—most of whom have earned postgraduate degrees. Whether you have sustained an injury from sports or had a joint replacement, our therapists can get you moving again.

Lawrence Home Care, our outpatient Nursing and Rehabilitative service, provides care upon discharge. This service adds an additional level of attention by maintaining direct contact with surgical and medical staff once a patient returns home.
