NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital offers a comprehensive range of maternity education programs for the entire family. Updated regularly, these are designed to give you and your family the tools and options necessary to make healthy decisions about your childbirth experience.
Our programs include Lamaze Childbirth Preparation taught by experienced nurses who are certified Lamaze instructors. The class familiarizes parents with the childbirth process from labor and delivery through postpartum and includes a tour of the unit. Cesarean birth, medication, and complications are also discussed. The techniques of relaxation, breathing, and pushing are taught to new expectant parents.

After the birth of your baby, you are invited to join our Breastfeeding Support Group.Guided by a lactation specialist the group meets the second Monday of each month. To sign up, please call Judy McArdle, RN at (914) 787-2141.
We invite you to take a virtual tour of the Maternity Center or if you prefer, you can participate in an on-site tour given at the hospital on Thursdays at 7:00pm.
