Exceptional, compassionate care and all the specialized services you might find in a larger city medical center - that's what you can expect from the Maternity Program at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital. It includes our new Center for Maternal Child Health which offers prenatal testing and advanced medical expertise for at-risk mothers and babies. At NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence, we deliver nearly 1,300 babies annually.
The Maternity Center can offer patients and their loved ones 23 private, hotel-like post-partum rooms complete with their own bathrooms & showers, flat-screen televisions and free access to the Internet. The Center also features a state-of-the-art Nursery for newborns. Next door, we have a new Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery, for babies with special needs or who are premature. For added support and your peace of mind, our staff of experienced neonatologists offers 24/7 care to these infants, giving them the same expert care you’d expect from a city hospital.
Lawrence also provides a variety of resources to help patients achieve their individual breastfeeding goals. We offer prenatal breastfeeding classes for expectant parents, an on-site Lactation Specialist, and “rooming in” is encouraged to enable on-demand feeding. NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital helps mothers develop a night-time feeding schedule to further support a breastfeeding plan. When mothers go home, our staff provides follow-up breastfeeding phone calls and encourages new mothers to participate in the hospital’s monthly Breastfeeding Support Group.
Plus, we have Lamaze and Childbirth classes to help prepare you for the birth of your child. To sign up for a class, please call (914) 787-5044.
We invite you to take a virtual tour
of the Maternity Center or if you prefer, you can participate in an on-site tour given at the hospital on Thursdays at 7:00pm.
