Weight Loss Surgery
The Columbia University Center for Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital invites you to attend our monthly support group meeting. The monthly meeting is open to anyone considering bariatric surgery and to those who've already had a procedure. The meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month. Childbirth And Lamaze Classes
NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence offers the following Childbirth classes to expectant parents: either 3 consecutive Tuesdays from 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. or a one day Saturday course from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. All classes prepare parents for the birthing process and are taught by certified Lamaze instructors. Breastfeeding classes are given once a month on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Instruction includes tips on how to prevent common problems and positioning techniques. The fee is $35.00. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. For more information call 914-787-5044.
Breastfeeding Support Group
Guided by our lactation expert, new moms can also participate in a postpartum breastfeeding support group. The group meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 10:00 a.m. For more information call Judy McArdle at 914-787-2141.
Joint Replacement Center
The Lawrence Joint Replacement Center offers board-certified surgeons, standardized protocols, orthopedic surgery suites, case management, pre-surgical education classes and dedicated physical and occupational therapists all designed to return the patient to an active lifestyle.
