What is this bill for?

The bill you received is from NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital is related to services rendered by NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence during an Inpatient, Outpatient or Emergency Room visit.

Why didn’t my insurance company pay in full?

Your insurance plan may have a deductible, an out-of-pocket percent of cost referred to as a co-insurance, or a flat co-payment amount which you may be required to pay. Please refer to the explanation of benefits which your insurance carrier should have provided to you. If you feel that we haven’t billed your insurance carrier, or if you have additional insurance coverage, please contact our Billing Department at 914-787-4003.

Why am I receiving a separate bill for professional fees?

Hospital charges do not include fees from your private physician, consultants, private duty nurses, emergency room physicians, pathologist, anesthesiologist and radiologist. Your payment for these services should be made directly to them. The 'pay to' information will be provided on the bill you received from the provider. You can also visit the Physician Fee section listed under 'Hospital Bills and Insurance' on our website for detailed information.

How can I pay my hospital bill?

We have several options for you to pay your hospital bill. You can pay your bill online by logging into your online account. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover or you can pay by eCheck. You may mail your payment to NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital, 55 Palmer Avenue, Bronxville, NY 10708 or you may pay in person at the Cashier’s Department in the hospital’s main lobby or by calling our Customer Service Department at 914-787-4003.

Payment Plans

You may make payment arrangements online by logging into your online account. A Payment Plan should not exceed 180 days and has a minimum payment amount of $25.00 per month. If you are unable to meet these Payment Plan requirements, or need assistance establishing payment arrangements, please contact a customer service representative at 914-787-4003.

Financial Assistance

Lawrence is proud of its not-for-profit mission to provide caring, high quality healthcare that meets the needs and expectations of the communities we serve. We have developed a financial assistance program designed to assist patients who are unable to pay all or a portion of their medical expenses. The program is based on income and need.
